Our founder Mrs Elliot was driven to create fit for purpose products that were made to last. It’s why she created the world’s first nylon quilted horse rug – faster drying and harder wearing than the wool and cotton alternatives of the time. 50 years on her vision has stood the test of time. We’re still making high quality quilted outwear from our Suffolk factory, working with some of the most experienced artisans in the country.
Aside from making every garment in our factory which allows us to be fully transparent about how our clothes are made, we are continuously pushing our suppliers on the latest in fabric innovation. We are proud to say all out polyester wadding is made from 65% recycled fibre and our signature polyester ‘Lavenster’ is now made from 100% post consumer recycled plastic bottles. It’s just the start of our journey towards living within the means of our planet, and we continue to seek out and implement change for the better.
We work with some of the countries most experienced artisans, from quilting to finishing. We are extremely proud of the level of skill and attention to detail that goes into each and every Lavenham garment, and equally proud of our lifetime repair service. Should you jacket start to show signs of wear, you can send it back to us for a repair.
Originally designed to be worn whilst horse riding, Lavenham classics have long outgrown their equine roots to become mainstays of the modern wardrobe. Striking the balance between practical and put together, careful fit updates in recent years ensure a contemporary and comfortable silhouette whilst the skill and attention to detail in production give a premium finish.
