Our third collaboration collection with menswear designer Nicholas Daley makes up part of his ‘Forgotten Fury’ AW21 collection, an exploration of the intersection between black culture and martial arts as told by the films of the 1970’s and accompanying soundtracks. As ever, Daley’s nuanced cultural dissection is met with an unwavering dedication to quality and artisanship. Made entirely in the Lavenham factory in Suffolk, each piece of the collaboration capsule juxtaposes fabric - the heritage with the technical - and combines multiple quilting techniques with military and martial arts references. The resulting pieces are utility garments at heart elevated through beautiful fabrics and a first-rate level of detail.


Quilted from a combination of dry wax cotton sourced from Halley Stephenson’s of Scotland and a technical nylon cloth, The Sashiko Jacket is a military inspired piece built for the cold thanks to technical insulation which is warm and breathable whilst remaining lightweight.

Continuing to be influenced by Japanese heritage, Daley continues his research into the traditional quilting technique of sashiko. This this time we opted for overlapping geometric shapes which also feature heavily in ancient Chinese silk embroideries. They are also reminiscent of the slight overlapping unique to Lavenham’s signature 2” diamond quilt pattern.
Featuring a collarless design, stepped hem, press stud fastening and ribbed cuffs, the pockets on the jacket total at six altogether. Accented with a lustrous organic cotton corduroy to pick out detail points of interest, we’ve finished with branded Lavenham press studs a nickel coloured hardwear.
