We realised very early on that in bringing together complementary fabrics, we could create garments which were greater than the sum of their parts. That is after all the essence of quilting.
In many ways a typical Lavenham gilet, a Lavenster base is graced with dry waxed cotton accent pockets and panels, sourced from Haley Stevenson of Scotland, who have been producing exemplary waxed cotton since 1864.
An incredibly versatile piece, a lighter wadding weight allows this gilet to be worn throughout the spring and summer months, over tee shirts or jumpers as the weather dictates. With patch pockets for practicality, we’ve finished with corduroy binding and collar sourced from our favourite Manchester based mill, and classic Lav tab branding on the pocket.
