A tribute to icons of the UK sound system Jah Shaka and Abi Shanti, and imagined outfits that could have been worn during set up of one of their dub reggae nights, the Nicholas Daley X Lavenham capsule forms part of the wider ‘Abstract Truth’ AW20 collection. Continuing our tradition of lending quilting expertise to innovative designers, each piece fuses traditional quilting with the latest in fabric technology, to create beautiful yet incredibly practical pieces that promise to earn their keep as winter wardrobe mainstays.
A true utility jacket, re-worked for a contemporary feel without loosing any of the practicality, the Engineers Jacket is made from a crinkly nylon fabric with contrast pockets and detailing in a dry waxed cotton. Mixing large and small onion quilt patterns, the jacket features a boxy fit, stepped hem, ribbed cuffs and seven pockets.
The piece brings together British and Japanese fabric technology; the crinkly nylon comes from Shibaya fabric in Japan, whilst the dry waxed cotton is from Halley Stevenson in Scotland. The Clo-I technical wadding we’ve used is lightweight, breathable and warm, and all the components come together to keep you warm and dry.
