A classic polo shirt with needle-pulled ribs on the hem and cuffs, the Dotsume polo shirt is knitted with twice as many threads as a general T-shirt, making it more durable and giving the fabric a characteristic unevenness on the surface. Inspired by the shirts worn by the baseball players of the 1940s, the polo shirt has a loose, practical silhouette.
The careful Japanese manufacturing process, using the same machinery as when it began in 1949, isn’t dissimilar from our hand-crafted production here in Suffolk, only at Jackman they specialise in using the finest cotton, at their own factory in Fukui, Japan.
Founded by Mitsugu Tanabe right after WWII, and inspired by his love for American Baseball, Jackman continue to use spirit and passion, creating understated, yet high quality pieces.
