Happy Bags Campaign

Happy Bag Campaign

In 2011 Lavenham launched a campaign to help the children in Japan who are still suffering the effects of the Earthquake and Tsunami. Lavenham together with our Japanese agent Watanabe launched a campaign to collect 1000 English Children’s Books which could be given to the children in Japan, the children were given a Lavenham quilted book bags which each had a book in.
The Campaign has been a huge success and we collected over 1000 books, thank you to all the people/organisations that kindly donated to such a great cause.
Nicky Santomauro, Lavenham MD visited Japan in June 2012 to the worst affected areas of Sendai and Fukushima to hand out the Happy Bags to schools and nurseries in the area.

The campaign has been a huge success and we want to continue it into next year, so if you have any English Children’s Books that you would happy to donate then please send to;
